...Adult Still's Disease:

  • Fever
  • Skin rash
  • Joint pain, warmth & swelling
  • Swollen lymph nodes
  • Sore throat
  • Pain with a deep breath
  • Abdominal pain and swelling
  • Weight loss


  • ...Ankylosing Spondylitis:
  • low-back pain
  • stiffness and limited motion in the low back
  • hip pain and stiffness
  • limited expansion of the chest
  • limited range of motion, especially involving spine & hips
  • joint pain & joint swelling in the shoulders, knees, & ankles
  • neck pain
  • heel pain
  • chronic stooping to relieve symptoms
  • fatigue
  • fever
  • loss of appetite
  • weight loss
  • eye inflammation


  • ...Anserine Bursitis:
  • swelling in front of the kneecap or underneath the kneecap
  • warmth and tenderness
  • pain when you bend or straighten your knee.

  • This disease may cause distinctive pain as follows:
  • increase in pain when you climb stairs or exercise
  • pain that radiates to the back and inside of your thigh
  • pain when your knees touch as you lie on your side
  • pain located a few inches below the kneecap, in the center of it, or behind it


  • ...CREST Syndrome:
  • Blanching, blueness, or redness of fingers and toes in response to heat and cold
  • Pain, stiffness, and swelling of fingers and joints
  • Skin thickening and shiny hands and forearm
  • Skin is hard
  • Tight and mask-like facial skin
  • Ulcerations on fingertips or toes
  • Esophageal reflux or heartburn
  • Difficulty swallowing
  • Bloating after meals
  • Weight loss
  • Diarrhea
  • Constipation
  • Shortness of breath


  • ...Degenerative Joint Disease:

  • Many changes with degenerative joint disease develop without symptoms over a long period of time.
  • symptoms vary when the joint is involved
  • Subtle development of morning stiffness is often an early symptom.
  • As OA progresses, there is pain with movement of the involved joint.
  • Pain and stiffness become more severe with activity, and improve with a proper amount of rest.
  • Decreased range of motion of the joints
  • The patient may have difficulty with brushing teeth, combing hair, or opening a jar
  • The joints, such as the fingers or knees, may become unstable, causing them to buckle or lock.
  • The fingers, spine, hips, knees, or ankles can all be affected, and may be tender to the touch.
  • Neck or back stiffness may be present
  • There may be swollen or painful joints around the fingers or knees
  • Hip or knee pain may cause a limp when walking
  • Popping sound or cracking sounds may be heard when moving the joint
  • With OA of the spine, such as in the neck, there may be headaches, neck stiffness, pain, and pressure on the nerve roots, resulting in a tingling or pins and needle like sensation in the fingertips or hands.


  • ...Felty's Syndrome:

  • General feeling of discomfort
  • Fatigue
  • Loss of appetite
  • Unintentional weight loss
  • Pale-looking skin
  • Joint swelling, stiffness, pain, & deformity
  • Recurrent infections
  • Eye burning or discharge


  • ...Fibromyalgia:

  • sleep disturbances
  • headaches
  • impaired memory
  • dizziness
  • diarrhea and/or constipation
  • anxiety or depression


  • ...Gonococcal Arthritis:
  • Fever
  • Lower abdominal pain
  • Migrating joint pain
  • Pain in the hands or wrists
  • Pain or burning on urination
  • Single joint pain
  • Skin rash


  • ...Gout:

  • Warmth
  • pain
  • swelling
  • extreme tenderness in a joint, usually a big toe joint


  • ...Juvenile Arthritis:

  • persistent joint swelling
  • pain
  • stiffness
  • limping in the morning
  • high fever
  • lymph node swelling
  • light pink rash


  • ...Juvenile Ankylosing Spondylitis:

  • back pain, usually most severe at night during rest
  • early morning stiffness
  • bending forward tends to relieve the pain
  • inability to take a deep breath, if the joints between the ribs and spine are affected
  • appetite loss
  • weight loss
  • fatigue
  • fever
  • anemia
  • pain at the site of attachment of muscles, ligaments, and/or tendons to bone
  • joint pain, particularly in the legs
  • vague pain, usually in the buttocks, thighs, heels, or near the shoulders
  • eye inflammation that is painful and causes redness and light sensitivity; may have frequent recurrences of eye inflammation
  • organ damage, such as the heart, lungs, and eyes


  • ...Legg Calve Perthes Disease:
  • Knee pain which may be the only initial symptom
  • Persistent thigh or groin pain
  • Wasting of muscles in the upper thigh
  • Apparent shortening of the leg, or legs of unequal length
  • Hip stiffness that restricts movement in the hip
  • Difficulty walking, walking with a limp
  • Limited range of motion


  • ...Medial Plica Syndrome:
  • Pain and swelling in the knee
  • A “clicking” sensation
  • A locking or weakness of the knee
  • Stiffness or tight sensation
  • Tenderness on the inner side of the knee


  • ...Mixed Connective Tissue Disease (MCTD):
  • swollen fingers
  • joint pain
  • Raynaud’s phenomenon (purplish rash on the face)
  • fatigue


  • ...Myofascial Pain Syndrome:
  • Deep, aching pain in a muscle
  • Pain that persists or worsens
  • Muscle stiffness
  • Joint stiffness near the affected muscle
  • Area of tension in your muscle that may feel like a knot or tight spot and may be particularly sensitive to touch
  • Difficulty sleeping due to pain


  • ...Neonatal Lupus:
  • Achy joints with swelling
  • Extreme fatigue
  • Unexplained rashes
  • Unexplained rashes that turn to sores, then scar
  • Butterfly rash across nose and cheeks
  • Anemia
  • Pain in the chest when deep breathing
  • Ulcers inside the mouth and nose
  • Photosensitivity
  • Heart/lung disorders


  • ...Osgood Schlatter's Disease:

  • Swelling at the bony bit at the top of the shin just below the kneecap.
  • Tenderness and pain on that part of the knee during and after exercise.
  • Pain when contracting the quadriceps against resistance or when contracting the muscles with the leg straight.
  • ...Osetoarthritis:

  • Pain
  • Stiffness
  • Limited joint motion
  • Tenderness and occasional swelling
  • Joint deformity
  • Joint cracking


  • ...Patellofemoral Pain:
  • Initially be present only as you begin physical activity or just after an intense workout
  • Increase as you step up the intensity of your activity
  • Progress to be present before, during and after physical activity
  • Make going up and down stairs painful
  • Become a constant ache that can make it difficult to sleep at night

  • ...Piriformis Syndrome:

  • A dull ache in the mid-rear
  • Pain down the back of the leg
  • Pain when walking up stairs or inclines
  • Increased pain after prolonged sitting


  • ...Polyarteritis Nodsa:
  • Fatigue
  • Weakness
  • Fever
  • Abdominal pain
  • Decreased appetite
  • Unintentional weight loss
  • Muscle aches
  • Joint aches


  • ...Polymyalgia Rheumatica:
  • Fatigue
  • Unintentional weight loss
  • Weakness or a general feeling of being unwell
  • Sometimes, a slight fever
  • low red blood cell count


  • ...Potts Disease:
  • Back pain is localized
  • Fever
  • Night sweats
  • Anorexia
  • Weight loss


  • ...Prepatellar Bursitis:
  • Pain and tenderness on the kneecap and just below it.
  • Kneecap may be swollen and warm to the touch.
  • Difficulty kneeling.
  • An abscess or fluid filled lump may be visible over the patella.
  • For chronic Prepatellar bursitis there may be a tender lump floating underneath the skin on the kneecap


  • ...Psoriatic Arthritis:
  • Nail abnormalities
  • Skin lesions
  • Joint swelling and joint pain
  • Pain and swelling at the site of attachment of tendons to bone


  • ...Rehumatoid Arthritis:

  • fatigue
  • Joint pain
  • Joint swelling
  • Joints that are tender to the touch
  • Red and puffy hands
  • Firm bumps of tissue under the skin on your arms
  • Morning stiffness that lasts at least 30 minutes
  • Fever
  • Weight loss


  • ...Reiter's Syndrome:
  • Pain, swelling and stiffness in the joints
  • Skin rashes
  • Swelling of fingers and toes
  • Thickened fingernails & toenails
  • Fever and chills
  • Inflammation of the eye
  • Inflammation where the tendon attaches to the bone
  • Inflammation & pain in the lower back or pelvic area
  • Inflammation of the bladder or urinary tract
  • Genital sores & blisters


  • ...Scheuermann's Disease:
  • Mild back pain
  • Fatigue
  • Tenderness and stiffness in the spine
  • Round back appearance
  • Difficulty breathing (in severe cases)


  • ...Scleroderma:
  • Gradual hardening, thickening & tightening of the skin
  • Skin discoloration
  • Numbness of extremities
  • Shiny skin
  • Small white lumps under the surface of the skin


  • ...Septic Arthritis:
  • Fever
  • Shaking chills
  • Severe pain in the affected joint, especially when you move that joint
  • Swelling of the affected joint
  • Warmth in the area of the affected joint


  • ...Sjogrens Syndrome:
  • Dry eyes
  • Dry mouth
  • Dental cavities
  • Fatigue
  • Enlarged parotid glands
  • Difficulty swallowing or chewing
  • Change in sense of taste
  • Hoarseness
  • Oral yeast infections, such as candidiasis
  • Skin rashes or dry skin
  • Vaginal dryness
  • Dry cough that doesn't produce sputum
  • Joint pain, swelling and stiffness


  • ...Spondylolysis:
  • Neck pain
  • Pain spreading from neck down arms
  • Lumbar pain
  • Lower back pain
  • Leg pain
  • Arm pain
  • Stiff neck
  • Stiff lumbar region
  • Muscle weakness
  • Arm weakness
  • Movement difficulty
  • Muscle spasms around the spine


  • ...Tennis Elbow:
  • Pain that radiates from the outside of your elbow into your forearm and wrist
  • Pain when you touch or bump the outside of your elbow
  • Pain when you extend your wrist
  • A weak grip
  • A painful grip during certain activities, such as shaking hands or turning a doorknob


  • ...Tuberculous Arthritis:
  • Low-grade fever
  • Excessive sweating, especially at night
  • Weight loss or loss of appetite
  • Joint swelling
  • Warm, tender joints
  • Decreased joint mobility
  • Spinal mass, numbness, tingling, or weakness of the legs


  • ...Undifferentiated Connective Tissue Disease:
  • Weight loss
  • Fatigue
  • Low-grade fevers
  • Rash
  • Joint pain
  • Joint swelling
  • Color changes of hands and feet with cold exposure, known as Raynaud’s
  • Dryness of the eyes
  • Dryness of the mouth
  • Lymph node swelling
  • Muscle weakness
  • Muscle pains
  • Difficulty swallowing
  • Heartburn
  • Cough
  • Shortness of breath
  • Chest pain
